Everyone that is planning a trip to South Africa has 2 places that they really want to visit and will fill in the rest as they go along, Cape Town and Kruger National Park.
I live here so i understand why, Cape Town has so much to offer and there is so much to do and then how great to begin or end your trip with a fabulous safari in the Kruger National Park.
You could spend a day or even a few days in Franschhoek or Stellenbosch just sampling fabulous wine and world class restaurants, make a day of it and use the wine tram to visit different farms in a different way.
Go to Hermanus to go shark cage diving or whale watching (at the right time of year) and visit the wine farms there. A beautiful small town with lots of character, take a slow drive back to to Cape Town via Stoney Point Penguin colony in Betty’s Bay and enjoy the beauty of the coastline.
Visit Cape Point and Boulders Beach stopping off at Hout Bay for a seal island visit or a trip to the harbour for fish and chips. There are great vineyards and restaurants in Constantia or take a picnic to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, if its a Sunday afternoon in our Summer months then see which South African band is playing and enjoy a concert aswell.
Do some shopping at the V & A Waterfront and take a trip to Robben Island.
All of this can be done by hiring a car and self driving or if that does not suit you then you can use the Hop on Hop off bus which takes you to the different tourist attractions , you can do different areas on different days or if you want to relax and let someone drive you around then use a tour company.
For the more adventurous take a hike up Table Mountain or use the cable car, the beauty of Cape Town from there is amazing and a definite must do.
We have put many packages together which include Cape Town so there are quite a few options whether on honeymoon, self driving around South Africa or just Cape Town and the Garden Route or just a safari and a trip to Cape Town, the options are endless according to your interests and budget but these are just a few of our most popular trips.
