Description
The luxurious Rhino Ridge Safari Park, partly owned by the Mpembeni community, is the first private game lodge in the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park, the oldest reserve in Africa. Having access to more than 90,000 hectares of indigenous land – which is not only abundant with a wide variety of game, but also the centre for Rhino Conservation, makes Rhino Ridge the perfect stopover for tourists, wildlife enthusiasts, as well as conservationists.
Accommodation at Rhino Ridge is comprised of 22 luxury rooms situated high on the ridge and surrounded by bush, with exceptional views of the reserve below.
The Hluhluwe Infolozi was established in order to protect the endangered white rhino, and it is due to this protection programme that there are still a number of these magnificent animals living in the park. Apart from the white rhino which roam the park though, guests are also treated to game drives around what is considered to be the heart of Big Five territory, where they are sure to see plenty of the other four of the Big Five, the elephant, lion, buffalo, and leopard.
