Mumbo Island, situated in the vast waters of the Lake Malawi National Park, is a deserted, unspoiled tropical island which has never been populated. Just 1 km in diameter, the island is managed in an entirely off-the-grid, green way, to make sure that it stays in the pristine condition that it has always been.
The water surrounding Mumbo Island is calm and clear, and brim-full of countless species of colourful fish, and provides what many consider to be the best fresh water scuba diving and snorkelling in the world.
Guest accommodation comes in the form of seven roomy safari tents, with single beds, en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers, as well as a balcony or patio, which offers exquisite views over the water. The tents are situated on a large wooden deck built on stilts, with a thatched roof, overlooking the lake, and breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all activities are included in the price.
