Located in an exclusive part of the Selous Game Reserve, there is nothing like Azura Selous in southern Tanzania. 12 tented villas with indoor stone bathrooms, outside showers, tented bedrooms and large terraces with plunge pools overlooking the rapids of the Great Ruaha River and resident noisy hippo – this is classic slow safari’s with style, authenticity and butler service.
January and February is a lovely time of year in Tanzania. Between the short rains in November and the long rains in April/May, it is the warmest time of the year with beautiful days. This was traditionally the high season before the 'migration fixation' and now offers great value and wonderful weather. July to September is peak safari season and a wonderful time to go to Tanzania. The landscape is beautifully green and lush, days are warm and evenings are cool. Azura Selous is closed in April and May due to the long rains.
Fundu Lagoon, Pemba Island
The epitome of a “bare foot paradise” with a distinct Robinson Crusoe air in a remote and peaceful location. With eighteen rooms consisting of canvas tents set under makuti (thatch) roofs on wooden decks, all with views over the sea. All rooms have large double or twin beds and ensuite bathrooms. Two of our eighteen rooms are suites, with their own private chill out deck and plunge pool, and four are superior suites which also have an extensive indoor and outdoor lounge space and mezzanine platform
January to March is considered as the ‘Green Season’ as these are the most humid months, with hot and sunny days and frequent bursts of tropical rain which usually occur in the late afternoon and overnight. But a great time to see dolphins and for deep sea fishing. June to October the rain subsides and days are lovely and clear.
